Appropriate initial assessment is performed as evidenced by documentation and treatment rendered. Maintain proficiency in advanced life support skills as documented in skills log and active field applications. Maintain ACLS and PALS certification.    Display concern for patients and co workers, as well as others by safe and courteous driving. Maintain a clear driving record. Acquire a knowledge of streets, roads, and other key areas serviced by the Ambulance Service. Respond to ambulance calls safely and in a minimal amount of time, remembering the safety of others and self. Ability to interpret rural road directories and maps for navigation to scene destination. Radio reports are concise and accurate. Maintain timely contact with medical control describing conditions briefly and specific to present condition. Utilize additional telecommunication devices as appropriate. Consistently use proper channels of communication in relaying appropriate information to peers, management, Medical Director, physicians, and other departments. Confidentiality is strictly observed.     Documentation is clear, concise, legible, thorough, and follows a logical sequence. Documentation contains sufficient information and is completed according to departmental policies. Documentation is complete.   Maintain all vehicle, safety, medical, and communication equipment to ensure proper condition, state of operational readiness and cleanliness. Vehicle and equipment checks are accurately completed and documented. Attend specific 48 hours of continuing education in emergency care to maintain eligibility for certification to the National Registry of EMTs on an annual basis. Maintain skill and demonstrate competencies on all certifications required by the department and Medical Director. Actively participate in departmental inservices and meetings. Organize priorities and complete projects within an appropriate time frame based on department's activities. Assume other duties and assignments as assigned. Is self directed. Seek in hospital clinical opportunities to keep skills proficient and to expand medical knowledge base. Recognize occurrences of life-threatening situations and emergencies and take appropriate action; function in a calm manner in stressful situations.    Work in the ER as a Technician, is responsible for all aspects of hospital EKGs, and is responsible for buck's traction. Will assist other departments as needed. These duties are secondary to the needs of the ambulance. This is a full-time position and the shift will be 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Includes every other weekend and holiday rotation.
